3-4 October 2026 in Berlin-Tiergarten, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
This workshop is for singers who would like to do this very special repertoire, and instrumentalists who like to work with singers. And naturally for musicians who do it all by themself.
There is a reader with well know songs from both traditions, from which you can pick a few songs you'd like to prepare. Or you bring your own material. You can start with Guillaume IX d'Aquitaine's poetry and continue with the Troubadour repertoire up to his great-grandson Richard I of Poitiers (The Lionheart). Or work with German Minnesingers.
Suitable instruments are harp, citole, symphonie and vielle. Medieval lutes and guiternes are also ok, even though they were not around in the 12th century yet.
