17/18 October 2027
We sing and play music by Oswald von Wolkenstein, celebrating his 650ieth birthday. He is very special, writing solo songs but also being a poet writing polyphonic song for three parts and parallel texts. Oswald was well traveled, soaked up all musical influences from Portugal to the Holy Land and from Lithuania to Morocco. He claims to speak ten languages in his song 'Es fuegt sich' and in another song one more (Hungarian) pops up. He uses words and sounds of all of them.
For the year 2028 we plan a Medieval Week about the Council of Constance 1414-1418 from 9-14 October 2028. This will build on Wolkenstein but will focus on other composers present: Johannes Ciconia, John Dunstable and Guilliame DuFay.
Possible Instruments for all the Medieval programs are: harp, citole, gittern, Medieval lute, hurdy-gurdy, vielle and flute.
